Zenless Zone Zero 2.2 Update: Things Are Heating Up!

A new Special Program for HoYoverse’s Zenless Zone Zero just premiered! The stream unveiled the content arriving in Version 2.2, titled “Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night,” alongside several quality-of-life improvements.

Players of the free-to-play action RPG will recall meeting the other members of Obol Squad in the last update, assisting in the rescue of a friend. Version 2.2 focuses on spending more time with them – particularly Orphie and Magus, and Seed – as you tackle the Exaltist threat.

These Obol Squad members are also the featured S-Rank characters in this update. Orphie and Magus arrive as a duo, inseparable as one is practically attached to the other. Seed will be accompanied by her mech companion. A character story for Seed is also planned, offering insight into her background. Several events are also on the horizon, including one that rewards players with a special Rank-A Bangboo: Excaliboo.

Beyond the update details, the special program revealed a collaboration with Razer featuring Hoshimi Miyabi, resulting in four themed items: a keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, and chair. Surprisingly, a headset with Miyabi’s signature ears was not included.

HoYoverse also announced a collaboration with car manufacturer Aston Martin. This event centers around Victoria Housekeeping, specifically Lycaon and Rina. A social media event will offer players the chance to win real-world prizes, such as an Aston Martin model car.

Regarding quality-of-life enhancements, several minor UI adjustments are coming to improve the player experience. The development team is addressing the persistent red exclamation point that appears even after completing all temple upgrades. They are also increasing the capacity of display shelves to hold 20 items, up from eight. Hopefully, a similar upgrade for the photo wall is in the works. Furthermore, locating NPCs for hangout events will be easier, as their locations will be displayed on maps even when the player is in a different area.
