Yoshi-P Responds to Concerns About Post-Dawntrail Character Model Issues

Every experience has its positives and negatives, especially regarding a graphic upgrade in preferred MMORPG. It’s the scenario with Final Fantasy XIV, where a graphic boost accompanied the Dawntrail launch. The creators hinted that player characters may differ slightly, although they strived to minimize the changes and provided a free fantasia to resolve potential problems, such as variations in skin color due to lighting.

However, other problems have arisen, and gamers have made the developers aware via the game’s forums and social media. Today, in a Lodestone post, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida acknowledged the issues. He also presented a preliminary plan for addressing the cited concerns, including polygons displaying incorrectly at some angles, skin blemishes, lip color, eyebrow and eyelash problems, and more.

Interestingly, resolving some of these problems is more complex than others, and the developers must be cautious not to cause additional glitches along the way. Some adjustments will happen with patch 7.1, while others will demand extra time.

Though the list of improvements Yoshi-P disclosed in his message is extensive, there are issues he didn’t address. Nonetheless, the team recognizes these and is actively working on solutions.
