World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary Celebration Begins October 22

Revamped dungeons, resurrected world bosses and new takes on armor sets can be enjoyed by players in World of Warcraft

The inaugural content update of The War Within (11.0.5) will commence on October 22nd subsequent to regional maintenance. A unique celebration invites all champions of Azeroth, both past and current, to the Caverns of Time nestled deep within Tanaris.

The 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft falls on November 23 – a series of in-game events, accompanied by reward opportunities, will honor two decades of thrilling escapades. Details about the available activities for player participation are listed below:

Classic Dungeon Reworked into Blackrock Abyss Raid

The Classic era dungeon will now function as a raid for groups ranging from 10-15 players, comprising 8 bosses on LR, Normal and Heroic modes.

Introduction of Classic Dungeons in new Timewalk

The Timewalking event, commencing post the anniversary, will formally incorporate Classic dungeons onto the rotation and it’ll be available in the LM Party Finder.

• Minas Mortas (Classic original version)
• Cruel Gladius (east and west wings)
• Stratholme (living and undead wards)

Return of world bosses

Additionally, prior raid bosses will be reintroduced with fresh rewards. From the previous anniversary, this includes Sha of Rage from Mists of Pandaria as well as Arcavon, the Stone Watcher from Wrath of the Lich King.

Renowned rewards

New collectible pets, mounts alongside classic transmog sets can be traded for the new currency, Bronze Celebration Tokens. Moreover, upgraded versions of Type 2 armor sets can be purchased with the same tokens, and these will be available for all classes. Fresh sets have been designed for those classes that were unavailable during the Type 2 era of Classic.

Content Update 11.0.5 will also usher in a variety of new player features including class balance adjustments, new quests, and the expansion of the drachthyr race to include six new combat classes such as rogue, wizard, and priest.
