Following the previously announced 2.0 update, World of Tanks saw a significant increase in player activity earlier this month. The game achieved a peak of 413,399 concurrent users shortly after the update’s release. On Steam, the player base reached an all-time high of 24,172 concurrent players after the 2.0 update.
“This incredible milestone was only possible thanks to our community,” said Michael Broek, World of Tanks Publishing Director West. “We are grateful to every commander who joined the battlefield for Update 2.0. Your dedication and excitement continue to inspire us to make World of Tanks better with every update.”
Key Changes in the 2.0 Update:
- Tier XI Tanks: Introduction of 16 new tanks with unique mechanics and progression.
- Vehicle Rebalancing: Adjustments to the stats of over 350 tanks across all tiers to refine roles and improve match fairness.
- Hangar Redesign: The garage has been transformed into a working factory environment, showcasing vehicles in various stages of assembly and customization.
- Streamlined User Interface: Reorganization of menus and battle screens for faster access to vehicle, crew, and upgrade information.
- New Matchmaker: Improved logic designed to reduce queue times and create more balanced teams.
- Map Addition: Nordskar, a Scandinavian map covered in snow, fulfilling a long-standing community request for more northern battlefields.
- PvE Event: “Operation Boiling Point,” a narrative-driven scenario allowing players to test three Tier XI tanks in cooperative missions.
- Audio Enhancement: New engine, cannon, and environmental sounds have been added to enhance battlefield immersion.
- Login Rewards: Veteran players receive a full Tier VI–X branch, currency, and premium time. New accounts get two branches and additional premiums. Collectors who have unlocked every tank receive exclusive cosmetic items.
