Update for Warframe’s Techrot Encore and Soulframe Pre-Alpha Arriving in March

The creators of the popular looter-shooter Warframe, Digital Extremes, has rolled out its 2025 roadmap. The highlight of the early 2025 set is the Techrot Encore update for Warframe: 1999 and fresh pre-alpha material for the fantasy MMO, Soulframe. The roadmap, which was unveiled on January 31 during a developer stream, has a focus on community-oriented events and innovative gameplay that is set for release before TennoCon 2025 in July.

Warframe’s 2025 Outlook

1. Coming in March 2025: Techrot Encore
   • Technocyte Coda Boss Encounters: New combats against the Infested versions of On-lyne, the boy band, offering 13 fresh weapons.
   • Temple (60th Warframe Release): This music-inspired frame comes with “glam” mechanics.
   • New Gemini Skins for Protoframe: A ’90s themed set of cosmetic enhancements for Warframes.
   • Bettered Relationship Mechanics: More NPC interaction options within the romance realm.
   • Jam Session Music: Created in collaboration with Jake Bowen and Mark Holcomb from Periphery and vocalist Elliot Coleman.
   • Gear: Scaldra: Pistol, Sickle, Rifle, Grenade Launcher and Drifter cosmetics inspired by Warframe: 1999’s theme.
2. Content for February 2025
   • Release of Lavos Prime: Set for February 12, it comes with two Prime weapons emphasizing alchemical powers.
   • Rhino Heirloom Skin: Available from February 6, it is the fourth in the premium aesthetic section.
   • Clan Operation: Belly of the Beast: Limited-time reward offering from this vertical Corpus mission scheduled between February 6 and March 3.
   • Nightwave Vol. 8: A set of new challenges with a ‘90s theme.
3. TennoCon 2025 (Scheduled on July 18–19)
   • Sale of tickets starts from February 7, featuring sessions, cosplay challenge, and the “TennoConcert” at Canada Life Place.
   • Charity tie-up with Make-A-Wish Canada.

Updates on Pre-Alpha Soulframe

Digital Extremes’ Soulframe, a fantasy MMO currently in the pre-alpha phase, is also set for expansion in 2025 that includes:

• New Fable Quests: The Shewolf Snared will introduce a new companion, Orengall – a wolf with special abilities like spawning pups and transforming enemies.
• Faction System: Players choose from three factions, which later influences the procedurally-generated quests.
• Unveiling New Ancestors: Atajan (Order of the Gyres’ originator) and Pothia (Battle Mother).
• Environment Expansion: Includes the corrupt land of Neath’uns and the enlarged island of Midrath.
• Introducing Voltaic Casters: A newly-found weapon type that uses electric magic.

In 2025, Warframe will be celebrating its 12th anniversary with regular content updates. The game has maintained its popularity over the years, with an average of 53,000 concurrent players on Steam. Soulframe, though still in its early stages, seems promising, even though its release date is yet to be announced.
