The New Zealand Game Developers Conference (NZGDC) 2024 is scheduled to be a platform aimed at professional game development and interactive media for audiences in New Zealand and Australia. The conference balances actionable and inspirational sessions while providing a platform for networking within the New Zealand industry as well as with visitors from overseas, depending on border allowances.
Having held its inaugural conference in 2004, NZGDC has become an annual event since 2012. As it stands, NZGDC is the biggest conference in New Zealand, solely centered on gaming, registering over 800 attendees solely in 2021. This year, the conference will play out over three days at Te Papa Tongarewa, the Museum of New Zealand. One of these days is exclusively reserved for workshops, and there’s a separate day for students following the convention.
