CHI PLAY, the Annual Symposium on Computer-Human Interaction in Play, is an international and interdisciplinary meet organized by ACM SIGCHI for professionals and researchers across various facets of games, human-computer interaction (HCI) and play.
The objective of CHI PLAY is to emphasize and encourage dialogue on present high-caliber research in HCI and games as groundwork for digital play’s future. The conference includes sessions of academic research papers, masterclasses, interactive play demonstrations, student game design contests, a poster session, and insights from the industry.
CHI PLAY originated from the increasing amount of work focused on games and play presented at smaller conferences such as Fun and Games and Gamification, as well as the ACM annual conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI). ACM Special Interest Group for Computer-Human Interaction (SIGCHI) sponsors CHI PLAY. The CHI PLAY Conference Proceedings, containing all accepted submissions, will be available in the ACM Digital Library, enabling access to a wide audience of researchers and practitioners worldwide.
