[Upcoming event] Asia Pacific Game Summit 2025

The Asia Pacific Game Summit (APGS) is dedicated to advocating for Taiwan’s gaming sector with a view to broadening prospects for global engagement among specialists. The Taipei Computer Association organizes the APGS, which hosts its yearly conference in conjuction with the Taipei Game Show (TGS), and occasionally runs uniquely themed salon-style events throughout the year. Since launching in 2014, APGS has staged over 200 seminars that span a diverse array of topics like “Game Development”, “Indie Games”, “Game Operations and Marketing”, “Metaverse”, “Generative AI”, “Web3.0”, and “Blockchain”. The series features distinguished speakers from the global stage.

#APGS Draws Crowds and Renowned Speakers

The yearly event draws a crowd, attracting reputable gaming companies and acclaimed studios, with audience figures surpassing 2,000 annually, fostering international discourse and idea exchange. Expanding beyond Taiwan, APGS took root in Tokyo in 2016 and 2017, providing a platform for gaming companies from Taiwan and Japan to discuss game development, marketing, and localization strategies. In 2018 and 2019, APGS chaired the “eSports Panel”, a forum for assessing shifts in the gaming sector, from industry, government, and academic lenses. It further dissected the roles that game developers and publishers, hardware brands, and eSports organizations play in eSports. The “Indie Salon” made its first appearance in 2019, acting as a nexus for global indie game developers to exchange knowledge about game development and international marketing trends. The salon’s objective is to support indie game developers while also offering a stage to showcase their work to a worldwide audience.

#Futuristic Perspectives and Groundbreaking Technological Exploration

APGS has partnered with the Asia Silicon Valley Development Agency in the period spanning 2022 to 2024 to conduct the yearly “Metaverse Forum”. This gathering brings industry thought leaders together to probe into burgeoning trends like the Metaverse. The exploration of the Metaverse landscape is carried out from multiple perspectives, including analysis of topics like Web 3.0 and Generative AI. The forum encourages participants to share insights on the latest industry tendencies and to collaboratively map out the Metaverse’s future trajectory. In 2024, a session titled “Emerging Technologies in Game Development” was held where revelations of experiences that merge virtual and real realms were explored, and the confrontations and valuable experiences in game development, under the backdrop of groundbreaking technology integration, were addressed. As it moves forward, APGS is committed to staying abreast of the latest advancements and patterns in the gaming and entertainment industries. Plans are afoot to stage more riveting sessions, offering attendees a deeper insight into the progressively shifting knowledge platform.
