Throne and Liberty’s Wilds of Talandre Receives Mixed Initial Reception from Players

This weekend marks a significant launch for Throne and Liberty, the MMORPG from NCsoft and Amazon, as the Wilds of Talandre update goes live. With nearly 48 hours of gameplay behind them, players are starting to share their opinions.

A key feature of the update, the new solo dungeons, is drawing criticism from players, with many feeling they’re too difficult without adequate rewards. Complaints about item drops are also emerging from other activities, with players noting that some Tier 2 instances are yielding Tier 1 loot.

Another point of contention is the milestone system, which unlocks new content for all server players based on their collective achievement of specific challenges within a set timeframe. Debates have arisen over the system’s design and schedule, with some players criticizing it as overly mandatory and others arguing it caters to more dedicated players rather than the entire player base.

Additional complaints include perceptions of strict item level requirements or time-intensive locks, performance issues, allegations of stealth changes to drop locations, and some disagreements over updates to boss portals.

At the time of writing, player feedback has resulted in a “mixed” user review rating on Steam, while player counts on the platform peaked at just over 50K on launch day and are gradually declining as the weekend progresses.
