The Lord of the Rings Online Discontinues 32-Bit Client: End of an Era

It’s been a while coming, and there have certainly been some bumps along the way. But it’s official: The Lord of the Rings Online‘s legacy (32-bit) client is no more. While the official closure of those servers is set for Sunday, the client was discontinued with today’s Update 45.3.

The update isn’t just about the discontinuation of the client, however. In fact, it also brings a new level cap to the free-to-play MMORPG’s Legendary Worlds of Angmar and Mordor, and content has been expanded to include Isengard and the Great River.

Aside from that, the update includes several implemented fixes. A variety of things, from events to PvMP, have been tweaked.

  • The drop rate of White Eggs has been increased in the Egg Scramble event.
  • Gathering Guests will no longer haunt players when the Midsummer Festival is not active.
  • Enervating Grip VFX no longer gets stuck on players during the Ringwraith event.
  • As for PvMP, the Fire & Frost Lore debuff will no longer build hidden stacks on a target.

Other changes improve the discoverability of birds, correct certain armors, and fix other issues.
