Today NEXON, along with NEXON Games, proudly announced the worldwide release of their eagerly awaited free-to-play looter shooter, The First Descendant. The game is available on platforms such as PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, PC through Steam, and NVIDIA GeForce NOW.

As of today, global players will transform into Descendants and unite to combat the extraterrestrial invasion, holding the fort for humanity’s existence and safeguarding the land of Ingris either in a solo or online multiplayer co-op mode.

In celebration of this, the development team has put together a new trailer that highlights some of the content that will be part of the pre-season battle pass. The trailer can be viewed below:

“Descendants, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for choosing to participate in the battle against the Vulgus,” expressed Minseok Joo, Creative Director at NEXON Games. “Our goal was to create a game that honors fan-favorite looter shooters, a genre we adore. The team has worked diligently to design a game that lives up to such high standards.”

“We aimed to develop a product that would let our players’ voices be heard, as The First Descendant is our first multiplatform release,” says Beomjun Lee, Producer at NEXON Games. “We not only aimed to create a product that we could be proud of, but also something that players would cherish and enjoy for many years to come. In response to community feedback, we’ve made several adjustments for the launch to enhance the player experience even further.”

The preseason (initial release) of The First Descendant will introduce a reward-laden Battle Pass, new Descendants such as Esiemo, Enzo, and Yujin, and an array of new weapons, Void Intercept Battles, Instance Dungeons, and more. NEXON Games aims to roll out the first update in the fifth week of gameplay, which will be followed by the first Season update in eight weeks.

Subsequent seasons will begin approximately every three months after the release of Season 1 Episode: Invasion in late August. This episode will revolve around a new Descendant, a story about a fan-favorite Descendant, a new Colossus and dungeon, new weapons, and more.
