For fans of Warframe who intended to be present at this year’s in-person TennoCon event by Digital Extremes, sorry to say, the event’s tickets were quickly sold out as soon as they were made available for purchase, leaving many players upset.
Sale of tickets began slightly after 2:00 p.m. EST last Friday and were no longer available half an hour later. Fans were quickly onto Twitter complaining about issues they faced while trying to purchase the tickets, while others say the general admission tickets didn’t last nearly as long.
Many fans assume that these quick sales were due to bot accounts looking to resell the tickets on other sites. However, Digital Extremes responded that they suspect there were simply more people in line to purchase tickets than there were tickets. They assured players that validation of tickets was carried out diligently and that tickets were non-transferable. They also guaranteed a worthwhile digital event and wrote that every ticket would be cross-verified with the name on the original purchase. They added that they were preparing to offer a unique virtual experience.
It seems, though, that the majority of people are still unhappy, and some are still certain that resale of tickets will still occur. Others are urging DE to check sales before the event, predicting that the event will be under-attended as people who bought resale tickets are turned away.
Regardless, this whole issue quickly doused the excitement of the upcoming big event for Warframe and Soulframe, that included a major keynote for Warframe and the most recent updates for Soulframe.
