Tencent Games has officially rebranded its mobile MMOFPS, formerly known as NZ Mobile, as Reverse War: The Future. A closed beta, dubbed the Evolution Test, is scheduled to begin in September in China for Android, iOS, and PC.
After being initially unveiled in 2022 and resurfacing for internal testing in March, Reverse War: The Future is gearing up for a wider audience. This beta will feature a data wipe, meaning progress won’t carry over, and will include active microtransactions.
PvE, Locks, and Unique Game Modes
Reverse War: The Future is a PvE shooter with a seasonal structure, introducing fresh themes, maps, talents, and skills with each season. It blends classic shooting mechanics with a diverse range of modes, including:
- Hunting Grounds
- Tower Defense
- Lock Battles
- Hunting Grounds Racing: A unique 4v4 racing mode
Players can expect an arsenal of classic weapons like machine guns and lasers, as well as grenades. Even prototype skins, typically premium, will be obtainable through in-game activities.
