A new class is introduced in Diablo Immortal along with an uncharted territory, making the game the best mobile game by Blizzard in the present day.
Waves crash against the rocks and the winds wail through the Cold Islands. In this new Diablo Immortal game area, players will meet a new class: The Tempest.
Using the power of wind and water, the Tempest (Storm) class arrives with the “Storm New Series” update, available from today, May 23, 2024.
Who is the Tempest?
The Tempest is an exile from a fallen empire, which was besieged by catastrophe of the elements. Armed with twin swords, this mage-warrior hybrid fights for redemption, hoping to save what is left of his world.
Game Style and Abilities
The Tempest is designed to provide a smooth fight, very much Hack’n Slash style. Using two blades that are detached and returned to his hand in the style of “God of War”, this warrior actually uses the power of water to achieve this effect.
Visually, the fight is very aesthetic, with blades flying in all directions. Moreover, the Tempest evokes two water clones to mimic the character and aid-in the battle.
Some of his devastating abilities include:
- Wave Edge: This primary ability allows the Tempest to use violent tides to create whips of water, releasing a series of broad and powerful attacks.
- Cascade / Breaker: These abilities allow the Tempest and his Zephyrs to unleash waves of energy that wreak havoc on the surrounding enemies, adding a strategic layer to the combat.
- Wind Walk: A defensive ability that engenders a cyclone dome, increasing the attack speed and providing temporary invulnerability.
The New Setting: Pelghain
A new region is launched along with the update today. Pelghain is described as an “Arctic Phoenicia”, ruled by the mighty nephilim brothers: Mehrwen and Ksathra.
This icy and mysterious land marked by ancient tragedies and conflicts. It is the perfect backdrop for the introduction of Tempest class and provides new challenges and adventures for the players.

Why Play as the Tempest?
The Tempest is more than just a new class in Diablo Immortal. He or she (depending on the player’s choice), offers a more dynamic and free-flowing combat with a significant “Hack’n Slash” feel. This brings a greater sensation of action and frenetic combat, with the potential to progress further, even without being at a suitable level. For instance, players can switch between short and medium range combat, forcing a bit more of a grind. Added to that, the new Paragon system provides players with better ways to upgrade and customize their items.
Is Diablo Immortal Worth Playing?
Despite heavy criticism at launch, Diablo Immortal managed to earn its place as one of the best RPG mobile games of the present day.
The game, by Blizzard in partnership with NetEase, offers an engaging storyline that fits between Diablo 2 and 3. It has a wide range of opportunities for players. There’s plenty of free content to explore, making the download worthwhile.
