Over recent weeks, the medieval strategy MMO Lionhearts has drawn attention for its ambitious blend of historical Third Crusade lore, 66 professions, 14 guild types, and player-driven power struggles. Despite skepticism over its $100K funding target and controversial $10,000 in-game duchy tiers—deemed “not pay-to-win” by developer Credenzio—the campaign successfully hit its base goal last week. Now, the Kickstarter has officially closed, securing $160,837 from 965 backers.
Though falling short of the pre-alpha testing stretch goal, the final funds unlocked several features, including a PvP colosseum demo for select backers, Templar cosmetic outfits, expanded weapon options in the colosseum, and the addition of ranged weapons/combat mechanics.
Credenzio’s “persistent medieval simulator,” initially spun off from Roblox, will now advance toward full development. With the crowdfunding phase complete, details on next steps remain scarce, but the studio is expected to share updates soon (and ideally scale back its social media influencer promotions). For now, the project is funded, validated, and moving forward.
