Star Resonance Ends Beta Purchase Rebates

I must admit, when I wrote about Blue Protocol: Star Resonance’s intentions to refund players for any purchases made during the forthcoming closed beta test, I believed it could complicate matters significantly. I recognized that the aim was to evaluate the F2P MMORPG’s monetization framework, and since the plan involved testing data—including purchases—prior to launch, a solution was necessary. However, other developers have addressed similar situations with less complexity.

It seems others shared this sentiment. As reported by MassivelyOP, when Bokura elaborated on the rebate guidelines—offering more items for larger purchases—players voiced their discontent. Consequently, the developers have opted to eliminate the rebate system entirely. Instead, they plan to restore wiped items to players upon launch, which appears to be a more sensible approach. Naturally, another route could have been to follow what other developers have done and grant players in-game currency to test the shop.
