Recognized from the Arthurian legends, Mordred is a key figure who desired royal power and instigated the fall of Camelot. Depending on different interpretations, he is either referred to as Arthur’s nephew or illegitimate son. His insatiable quest for the throne culminated in his fatal duel with Arthur.
However, in the world of Smite 2, death is a concept of little significance. And as the figurehead of the Arthurian pantheon, it seems natural for Mordred to make an appearance in the MOBA storyline. And now, the moment has arrived.
Recently, Titan Forge Games publicized the impending inception of the character Mordred, inspired by the theme of the Dark Knight. They have shared a blog post elaborating on the creation process of this character for the game. As reflected in his folklore, Mordred embodies sheer ruthlessness and malice. He stops at nothing and his strength-intelligence blend predominates his abilities. He is a melee god with exceptional mobility that mirrors his legendary battlefield status.
It might be a while before we see Mordred in action, especially as his design is tailored for Smite 2, currently in its Alpha phase. Nevertheless, for enthusiasts of Arthurian lore, his introduction is thrilling.
To bide our time until the 24/7 closed alpha kicks off, we can indulge in SMITE 2’s latest “Top 5” test video.
