Skull and Bones brings item ascension and world tiers in latest season, previews all of Year 2’s updates

Skull and Bones Introduces Item Ascension and World Tiers in Latest Season, Previews Year 2 Updates

It’s time to kick off another year of swashbuckling adventures, rum bottles, and the classic chant of “15 men on a dead man’s chest.” Year 2 Season 1 of Skull and Bones is now live, bringing fresh layers of content to the multiplayer pirate adventure game. And yes, the term “layers” is quite literal here.

The new addition is a world tier mechanic, allowing players to progress from the current map to a more challenging version called the Cutthroat Seas, provided they meet specific requirements and complete associated quests. This higher tier promises increased difficulty but also greater rewards and loot, while the original map remains as Tier 1.

But don’t think the original map is left behind: Another highlight is the introduction of a weapon ascension system, enabling players to customize their favorite weapons with new modifiers like incendiary damage or faster reload speeds. Additionally, Tier 2 players will gain access to the highest levels of power for their ships and weapons.

The update also brings a new medium-sized DPS ship called the Schooner, more warehouse storage space, a shell-shocked status effect, and a limited-time event starting May 6th, where players hunt down a rogue faction known as the Honorless.

While the current season is in full swing, Ubisoft Singapore has also teased what’s coming in Season 2, including a team-based PvP mode featuring pre-built ships, a massive new Frigate, an officer system for enhanced ship benefits, a Kraken encounter, and new land combat mechanics.
