Sea of Thieves: Reaper Fortresses Arrive in Season 17 Act 3 (October 16)

Prepare for a new kind of challenge in Sea of Thieves! Skeleton Forts are getting a revamp and transforming into Reaper Fortresses. As Rare Ltd. reveals in their latest preview video, these updated forts are more than just a name change. They’re arriving with the Season 17 Act 3 update on October 16th, bringing even more intense action to the pirate sandbox.

These new fortresses present heightened challenges for pirates seeking loot. Expect to battle spectral ships, navigate a chaotic melee between Dark Brethren and Order of Bone and Blade forces, and contend with a host of fiery traps. Fortunately, weapon caches within the forts can be found, and the environment itself can be weaponized against your foes. Conquering these challenges will unlock vaults overflowing with treasure, plus, completing commendations will grant you access to unique cosmetic items for your ship and captain’s quarters.

This time around, four categories are available: detective, cosplay, ridiculous, and ghoulish. Submissions will be accepted on specific dates between October 20th and 23rd for each category.
