Previously, in July, gamers were advised to be patient. Currently, fans of Overwatch 2 who were eagerly awaiting a 6v6 format might have their wishes fulfilled, providing the trials go smoothly. The development crew is gearing up for 6v6 testing within their shooter game. Specifically, there will be two distinct tests.
Launching a week into Season 14, the initial test will be a modification of Open Queue. No longer adhering to the 2-2-2 role demands, teams can consist of configurations that include at least one of each role and no more than three. During matches, players can transition roles as and when needed, without breaching these restrictions.
The second 6v6 trial will commence in the middle of Season 14. This variant will follow the conventional 2-2-2 composition, but will feature new guidelines.
Provided the tests are deemed successful and player reactions are positive, the possibility of Overwatch 2 offering both 5v5 and 6v6 modes in the future cannot be ruled out.
