Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft Collaborate for Special Anniversary Event

As of today (17), gamers can partake in the special World of Warcraft and Overwatch 2 crossover event, in commemoration of WoW’s 20th anniversary. The event offers Legendary skins and various free rewards.

Overwatch 2 participants can join in the celebration of World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary with an extraordinary crossover event that merges Azeroth and Future Earth. The event takes place from today (17) until September 30, where players will see the fusion of worlds with famous World of Warcraft characters being represented by Overwatch 2 heroes.

This collaboration allows participants to fully immerse themselves into the action with Legendary skins such as Widowmaker Sylvanas Windrunner, Lich King Reinhardt, Zenyatta Thrall, and Diamond Magni Torbjörn, each designed to encapsulate both universes. Find the gameplay trailer below:

Widowmaker Sylvanas Windrunner exudes the chills of the Banshee Queen’s shadow arrows, while Lich King Reinhardt brandishes the formidable Frostmourne weapon, prepared to marshal the Scourge with his relentless power. Meanwhile, Zenyatta Thrall forges a fresh fate for the Horde and Magni Diamond Torbjörn battles for the benefit of Azeroth.

Their appearance is elegantly depicted in cinematic gameplay, similar to the spectacular cinematic featuring Reinhardt during the Lich King event, which hurls the influential ruler of Azeroth straight into Overwatch 2.

Fan-favorite emotes, inspired by World of Warcraft quest NPCs, allow Overwatch 2 champions to honor the beloved World of Warcraft. Whether it’s eliminating adversaries or merely savoring the glory of these cosmetic additions, participants will detect the influence of Azeroth in every match.

Legendary skins, memorable emotes, and more surprises await those prepared to honor these two gaming titans. From September 17 to September 30, players can unlock free rewards up to 10 times, comprising charms, sprays, icons, and name cards, confirming their status among the champions! The Massive Bundle, inclusive of all skins and cosmetics from this exclusive cooperation, allows players to thoroughly invest in this crossover.

Additional festivities scheduled

This isn’t the only commemoration happening this season! Starting September 24, players can mark another year of Overwatch 2 with a month-long event presenting favorite game modes from the preceding year.

• Week 1: Commences with Beast Showdown and Community Made modes
• Week 2: Proceeds with the April Fools’ Day tricks of 2024 and the Cosmic Crisis challenges.
