Parkour game fans faced the unwelcome news this week when Makea Games unveiled that the company will be packing up. Unfortunately, this implies that there’s no assurance of future updates or sustaining online services for the parkour game, Supermoves. However, offline modes are expected to be intact, but the rest remains uncertain.
If you still desire to demonstrate your crazy virtual parkour skills, another option could be just around the corner. This more light-hearted new addition is expected to be a Free-to-Play game.
Meet “Ninja Party”, a slightly eccentric name, but perhaps indicative of the game’s fun nature. Developed by Nekki, this forthcoming “parkour party royale” doesn’t have a fixed release date, but the plan is to enable cross play with PCs, mobile devices, and Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles. Boasting vibrant visuals, Ninja Party will host 12 players in an arena that offers an array of surfaces, edges, glide slots, and gaps, allowing players to utilize stylish parkour moves typically seen in movies, alongside battling rivals through an array of weaponry.
Imagine a “Ninja Warrior” contest where all the participants start simultaneously and have the liberty to engage each other in combat during the game.
Teaming up in groups of two or three will be possible, with abundant aesthetic upgrades to be gained through completing various challenges.
An open trial is scheduled for later this year, so if you’re confident in your parkour prowess, you can register now on the official Steam page to take part in the race.
