New Destiny 2 Update Revamps Exotic Armor for Edge of Fate

In the latest This Week In Destiny article, Bungie revealed an exciting update for Destiny 2, paving the way for the anticipated Edge of Fate expansion.

Starting July 15, all new Exotic armor acquired in the free-to-play shooter will feature the full benefits of Armor 3.0, which includes enhanced stat archetypes, complete mod energy, and Masterwork capabilities. Additionally, players will receive 20 complimentary Exotic focuses from Ada-1 to help them target specific armor archetypes, streamlining their buildcrafting. Existing gear will seamlessly transition into the new system without any stat losses.

However, Warlocks will face a setback as the Exotic chest piece Sanguine Alchemy has been adjusted. A 10-second cooldown will now be implemented for equipping it during combat to discourage excessive exotic gear-switching. Furthermore, Exotic class items will no longer be eligible for upgrade to Artifice status, though they will maintain their maximum stats after conversion.

Looking forward to Edge of Fate, noteworthy subclass adjustments will be rolled out across all three classes. Warlocks will experience modifications to abilities such as Pocket Singularity and various Void and Strand effects; Titans will enjoy refined tracking for Shield Throw; and Hunters will see improvements in the consistency of Gambler’s Dodge.

Lastly, a new Featured Exotics system will introduce a rotation of 28 weapons and 15 armor pieces, providing players with insights into top-tier builds while still allowing access to the complete Exotic catalog.
