Mortal Online 2 postpones integration of ‘new AI technology’ into Reckoning update due to hardware delivery delays.

It seems that the highly anticipated “newfangled technology” requiring advanced hardware won’t be making its way into Mortal Online 2’s upcoming Reckoning update after all. Star Vault confirmed this in its latest dev blog, explaining that the introduction of “new AI technology” has been postponed indefinitely due to hardware delays from NVIDIA.

“This fourth significant feature of the Reckoning Expansion was heavily reliant and depending on receiving some specific hardware from NVIDIA, which has regrettably been substantially delayed. […] As such, we will unfortunately not be able to include the planned new complex AI features in the Reckoning Expansion, at least not without pushing back its release date indefinitely.”

While the Reckoning patch will still include some AI updates, this specific feature will have to wait until NVIDIA delivers the necessary hardware. Star Vault has promised to share more details about the tech once the supply issues are resolved.

In the meantime, the studio has announced its next info stream, scheduled for Wednesday, June 18th. This livestream will focus on the addition of combat abilities and the new adrenaline system. However, fans should temper their expectations regarding any groundbreaking AI advancements—those won’t be part of the discussion.
