MechWarrior Online launches a new purchasable mech, while MechWarrior 5 Clans unveils the Trials of War DLC

Another unusual patch for MechWarrior Online went live last week. However, it’s not due to bugs but rather the series of updates on chassis quirks applied in this patch. Of course, these changes may induce mixed feelings depending on whether your favorite mech’s quirks got buffed or nerfed.

The patch applied various adjustments to a diverse set of ‘mech variants’ latent abilities. Particularly, the Arctic Cheetah, Urbanmech, Nova Cat, and the Wolverine, got the most updates. Smaller adjustments were also made on chassis like the Mad Dog, Summoner, and Trebuchet. Also, the Bane, a new 100-ton assault ‘mech, is now purchasable. Known for its single weapon types setup and great fire potential, it comes with less armor.

In other MechWarrior related news, the multiplayer installment MechWarrior 5: Clans has launched the Trials of War DLC this week. A new challenging Trueborn difficulty mode for the campaign, a horde mode featuring relentless AI ‘mech waves, a five-player PvP arena, and 12 new omnimech variants have been added. Moreover, only the game host needs to purchase the $20 DLC for other players to enjoy its content.

This new DLC introduction is coincides with a general update for MW5: Clans that brings enhancements to the mission menu, incorporates an abort mission button, allows players to take over AI ‘mechs via the command wheel, and fixes multiple multi-player bugs.
