Marvel Rivals Labels Blitz Plugin as Cheating Software, Bans Future Use

The Marvel Rivals game has been the topic of various significant news this week, including the release of its mid-season update, the successful launch of its complete Fantastic Four series, and the apparent outsourcing of its development from China, leading to the lay-off of several US-based personnel.

The team today announced that Blitz, a globally used third-party plugin, is now classified as “cheating” software in the game. This tool, commonly used in various games such as Rocket League, League of Legends, and even Minecraft, is known for collecting typically inaccessible game stats. In Marvel Rivals’ context, Blitz could unveil different damage and healing figures, forecast Ultimate abilities, among other things, which NetEase considers unfair.

Players who have used this tool before need not be worried. There won’t be any penalties applied retrospectively. That said, if you continue to use Blitz while playing Marvel Rivals, you might find yourself violating the game’s cheating policies.

“Players who have earlier utilized this software will not experience any sanctions, provided they abstain from using it in subsequent matches. To uphold fairness in our virtual universe and secure your account, we emphatically recommend you to cease using any third-party plugins. Let us create a lively and heroic gaming ambiance together,” part of the announcement reads.

So, it’s advisable to disable that plugin right away.
