Lost Ark Region Merge: What You Need to Know

As Lost Ark players are aware, Amazon Games is preparing a North American region merge for the free-to-play MMORPG. It’s important to note that this is a region merge, not a server and roster merge. This means players will not have to worry about their individual servers being combined or their rosters being directly affected. However, there *will* be adjustments to shared systems, including the in-game market, auction house, and currency exchange. Be aware that character and guild names may also be impacted.

During the merge process, all commerce-related activities within the game will be temporarily suspended. If you have any items currently listed on the market or active offers, these will be cancelled and will need to be re-posted after the merge is complete. Regarding potential character and guild name conflicts, the system will prioritize resolution. For character names, priority will be given to characters belonging to a roster with the highest maximum character level. If character levels are the same, the character created first will retain the name. Players whose character names are reset will be prompted by the system upon login.

The handling of duplicate guild names will follow a similar approach. The guild created first will retain the original name. In cases where both guilds were created simultaneously, the guild residing in the target region will keep its name. Guilds that lose their name will receive a complimentary name change ticket.

Thankfully, friend lists and other social features will remain largely unaffected. Friend lists and friend requests will be preserved, and will automatically reflect any player name changes that occur.

The merge will also impact certain items, such as powerpasses and reskin tickets. The handling of these items follows a specific logic: If the item exists in both regions, the item will transfer. If the item exists as an item in the source region, it will transfer as an item. If it exists as a token, it will transfer as a token. Free tickets and tokens will be adjusted to reflect the lowest available amount across both regions.

Other in-game features, including Paradise Islands, the in-game shop, and various other systems, may also experience changes due to the merge. Comprehensive details and specific rules pertaining to each of these systems can be found in the official announcement on the Lost Ark Steam page.
