If you’ve struggled through server instability this week in Standing Stone Games’ MMOs, you’re not alone. The studio’s flagship titles, Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online, have faced heightened latency and login outages, prompting developers to address the ongoing concerns.
SSG confirmed that login issues plagued both games on Monday, September 15th, blocking access for many adventurers. Fortunately, the team resolved these connectivity problems later that evening.
Regarding the persistent problems of lag, rubberbanding, and server instability, SSG emphasized that optimizing performance remains a “top priority” across both games. For DDO, developers revealed that the upcoming game update will include targeted performance enhancements, as noted in their latest progress report. The team is also tackling problematic character transfers to ensure smoother migrations.
As for LOTRO, a performance hotfix is slated for release this week. “We’re actively investigating solutions and implementing improvements in upcoming updates,” SSG stated. “We understand players’ frustrations and are working urgently to enhance server stability.”
