Last year, the sci-fi MMORPG Vendetta Online released an impressive 44 updates.

If you’re on the hunt for a space sim, don’t limit yourself to Star Citizen or EVE Online. Vendetta Online has been operating since 2004 and is available on a wide range of platforms including PC, Mac, Switch, VR, and mobile. As it concludes its second decade, it’s time to look at what it has achieved.

In a round-up newsletter for the year, the Vendetta development team shared that it launched 44 updates in the past year. These included TV support, VR enhancements, capship updates, an optimized new user journey, upgraded third-person mobile camera mode, and an array of new missions.

Currently, the team is working on translating the free-to-play game into 19 languages and developing persistent events. The latter is “a new style of in-game mission that has slowly started to appear in the game. This is perhaps the greatest gameplay advancement in years […] These events can trigger subsequent events, creating complex, large-scale content dynamically based on player behavior, ranging from short encounters with a rare NPC to a galaxy-wide invasion lasting several months.”
