LOTRO’s progression server stress test last week crashed in a useful way

Last week’s stress test on LOTRO’s progression server crashed in a beneficial manner.

There was a stress test on one of the new Lord of the Rings Online’s legendary servers last week which caused a crash as over 200 players accumulated in the same area for the Ringwraith world event. Far from being an undesirable outcome, Standing Stone Games noted that this result yielded beneficial data. Additionally, players reported consistent performance and a significant decrease in lag.

“I want to thank everyone for participating in the stress test! Sure, it crashed a few instances, but it was a fun experience for hopefully everyone. We were also able to obtain valuable information regarding server performance and the Ringwraith encounters. More details about future test windows and the official server’s releasing date will be given when possible,” stated by the community manager of the game.

In other news, the seldom-seen Curator vendor from LOTRO’s is available again until July 11th. In exchange for the player’s figments of splendor tokens, the Curator provides unique cosmetic armor parts, housing decorations, and animal mounts and pets.
