The acclaimed South Korean studio, KRAFTON, renowned for PUBG, has revealed two new trailers showcasing their advancements in AI technology in both PUBG and inZOI, partnering with NVIDIA.
In the context of PUBG, Krafton introduced PUBG Ally, marketed as the planet’s initial “co-playable character”. Simply put, it’s a hyper-realistic bot ally that behaves like a genuine human and responds to voice orders from the player.
InZOI, an upcoming game reminiscent of The Sims, will feature AI-driven NPCs to develop a hyper-realistic environment where NPCs interact with their surroundings and each other.
Whether these enhancements will be integrated into other online games and MMOs remains to be seen. However, considering the rapid advancement of AI, it appears likely. The primary application of AI in video games would likely be constructing hyper-realistic bots serving as both allies and foes. Krafton is seemingly achieving substantial progress in this area.
