Infinite's First Ever FPS AI Companion In Action In A Full F.A.C.U.L. Match

Infinite’s FPS AI Companion’s Inaugural F.A.C.U.L. Match Debut

The first time I played SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals with my “AI” teammates on PlayStation 2 left a lasting impression. Giving NPCs orders via the headset and watching them carry out the commands was an incredible experience. Telling them to take cover and watching them do so was amazing, notwithstanding the restrictions in the commands and intermittent inaccuracies with the microphone’s command recognition.

But times have evolved. Arena Breakout: Infinite is demonstrating the futuristic version of the same style of gaming. In what More Fun Studios term the “First Ever AI Companion Who Understands Human Language” or F.A.C.U.L., the soon to be released shooter game demonstrates how voice commands are still key to winning as a team.

However, the array of commands this time will be limitless.

The latest video showcases this in an exciting way. Player’s everyday language can be used to direct their 3 AI teammates to carry out actions like flanking, covering, inspecting, and much more. Seeing the player order the NPCs to “examine the blue box” and then witnessing them run to the right box amidst multiple class of boxes, is quite fascinating and leaves one wondering about the possibility of the technology.

However, the team has confessed that they are yet to discover a real use case scenario to incorporate this into the game, still, it’s an exciting sneak peek into what’s to come. Below is the tech demo for you to check out.
