HoYoverse Ends PlayStation Support for Genshin Impact

It’s unfortunate news for Genshin Impact fans who enjoy playing on PlayStation 4. HoYoverse has announced that support for the action RPG on this console will end starting September 10. According to the update on the HoYolab forums, this decision stems from “limitations related to hardware performance and platform application size.” In simpler terms, the game is becoming too demanding for the console.

Instead of an abrupt termination of support, HoYoverse has structured a three-phase plan. The first phase, Game Removal, will involve taking the game off the PlayStation store. This means that any PS4 users who haven’t previously downloaded the game will no longer have the opportunity to do so. Subsequently, on February 25, 2026, in-game purchases will be discontinued on both the PlayStation Store and the in-game shop. Players who have made purchases but have not yet claimed them will still have access to those items.

Lastly, on April 8, 2026, update support will be terminated, and players will no longer be able to log into the game on PS4. However, players can still access the game on other platforms and continue their adventure.
