This Week in Destiny delves into the exciting introduction of Heliostat to Destiny 2. This new Exotic Mission plunges Guardians into a rediscovered Warmind bunker. Available to players of the free-to-play shooter, Heliostat offers the chance to wield Wolfsbane, the game’s first-ever Exotic Axe. Wolfsbane can be enhanced using hidden secrets scattered throughout the mission. The initial run of Heliostat is locked to Normal difficulty, but successful completion grants a Power boost to all fireteam members. Following this initial run, the mission becomes fully customizable through the Pinnacle Ops tab. Bungie has confirmed that all Wolfsbane Intrinsics and one Exotic catalyst are currently obtainable, with more catalysts scheduled to arrive next week.
The update also highlighted significant progression changes for Destiny 2: Renegades. Bungie announced that Seasonal Power will now carry over from Season 27 into Season 28, eliminating the need for a Seasonal Power reset. The Power cap remains at 550, and Unstable Cores will persist across seasons. On October 14, Update 9.1.5.1 will introduce a Power catch-up mechanism designed to bring all players to 300 Power. This update also includes improvements to reward structures, easier difficulty scaling, and refined matchmaking for the Portal activity. Challenge modifiers will no longer increase Power; instead, each difficulty will now have fixed Power deltas ranging from 0 to -30.
In addition, Arms Week is making a return, with Shotguns as the featured weapon type. Players will have the opportunity to earn the Trachinus Stasis Rapid-Fire Slug Shotgun, along with new “Kinda Illegal” mods such as Unstable Shells, Illegal Trigger, and Aftershock.
Lastly, Trials of Osiris will be held on Javelin-4 this weekend, with the Auric Disabler, a Strand Precision Auto-Rifle, as the featured reward. This weapon boasts potent PvP and PvE perk combinations like Slice/Sword Logic and Firefly/Tear.
