Just last week, the avid fan base of MMORPGs came to know that Fantastic Pixel Castle’s under-development MMO, Ghost is about to kickstart its early external playtests. These initial tests, slated for a timespan of around four months, are expected to roll out in September. As per recent tweets from the studio’s head Greg Street, things seem to be on track, showcasing his eagerness for the testing phase.
In Street’s own words, a small team will initially get to test the game in a matter of weeks. The primary goal will be to assess if players can successfully log in to the MMO. He affirmed that the current in-game visuals are placeholders and expressed his hope for the participants to be thrilled about the opportunity to shape the game in the coming years.
The game’s studio head also offered insights into their plan for expanded testing: interested participants won’t miss the call for Ghost playtests. As Street promises, the signup process won’t just be limited to his Twitter feed.
Our first external playtest is in a couple of weeks with a very small group. It’s 60% to make sure they can get in the game. Trying to manage tester expectations that all art is still stand in. Hopefully they are just excited about helping us mold the game for a few years to come
