On July 30, a closed showcase was hosted for the second time by the South Korean developer, Gpun, for his new mobile game, Terarium. This game unites anime-style girls, TPS combat, and elements of a post-apocalyptic world. The event updated industry members on the rapid pace of development since the prototype was finished, with the goal of a publisher-ready version by December.
CEO Choi Joo-Hong revealed that the initial showcase was a gamble to grab attention early on, and it paid off. Following increased interest in the project, the team expanded to 42 developers and have now received over 2,000 resumes. The next stage for Terarium involves two key aims: produce a working build by year-end and official game launch in the first half of 2027. The focus, according to Choi, is to provide a balance of intense action, basic management, and character interaction that caters to different player profiles.
The gameplay of Terrarium is built around three core elements: Third-person battles involving three characters and one mecha (motorheim), management of an expandable underground base featuring assorted events and mini-games, and character social interactions. The game is being designed for mobile, PC, and console platforms, offering both automatic and manual shooting modes that highlight player precision and aptitude. Further details about the project will be released shortly.
