Genshin Impact V5.8: New Nod-Krai Character and Summer Event Launch

It’s surprising to realize that Genshin Impact players have been adventuring in Natlan for nearly a year. During this time, we’ve formed many new friendships, deciphered mysteries involving ancient dragons, brought a 500-year conflict to an end, and reunited with our sibling. Thankfully, this time we have memories and some answers at hand.

As we near the conclusion of our journey in Natlan, a new chapter awaits. But before we embark on that adventure, it’s time for the annual Summer Event tradition.

In the past, these events typically featured Klee, Albedo, and the elusive Alice, with the associated areas being temporary—often due to Alice or other Hexenzirkel members playing a role in their creation. (Honestly, quite the intimidating group of ladies!) This year, though, we have a different scenario, with the event set in a brand-new resort in Natlan.

The location and its associated story will persist beyond the event, which is fantastic news since HoYo usually enriches these events with substantial lore. Missing out means missing those intriguing details. However, not everything from these events will remain; like in HoYo’s other games, smaller side events and special rewards will vanish once the event period concludes. So, players eager to obtain items such as Bennett’s newest outfit should aim to complete those tasks.

Naturally, Version 5.8 isn’t solely about summer fun. A new mystery awaits as the Traveler and companions encounter a newcomer looking to find their way home. Ineffa is a multi-purpose robot crafted by someone from Nod-Krai using parts from diverse locations across Teyvat. She’s the latest playable character and introduces novel mechanics to the hydro-electro reaction in combat, transforming electro-charge into a lunar-charge that casts a thundercloud overhead to inflict ongoing damage. According to the morning’s Special Program, she will be the first character to possess this ability.

With the introduction of Ineffa comes a new Archon Quest that will shed light on her origins and likely provide greater context regarding the state of Teyvat. Additionally, the update features a quest involving Yelan as she travels to Fontaine to solve a crime; during her undercover mission, she will also acquire a new outfit.

Moreover, there’s a new boss encounter on the horizon. It seems one of Gold’s creatures has been neglected for some time, and it’s not one to befriend, unlike Albedo. This creature is massive and immortal.
