Genshin Impact is readying a new story quest, trio of characters, and minigames for January 1.


Year 2025 will commence with fresh content for Genshin Impact. With this open-world RPG planning to launch 5.3 Incandescent Ode of Resurrection version on the opening day featuring a novel primary story quest, brand-new in-game characters, and several new events to kick start the year.

New main quest unfolds the story set in Natlan and brings warriors from the realm to face-off with the Abyss forces in a final combat. From a gameplay perspective, it includes two new boss challenges along with an opportunity for players to brandish Pyro.

Game Update 5.3 will bring in Mavuika, a fresh Pyro-bearer who can swing a claymore and a motorcycle, usable for in-game travel; Citali, with Cryo catalyst and shield summoning abilities and short-distance floating capacity, and Anemo catalyst user Lan Yan, who can make quick movements with a shield and changing its element with a special attack.

The new version also marks the renewal of the Lantern Rite New Year’s festival in Liyue with new mini-games added including a puzzle and a rhythm game, all adding to an action-packed start for Genshin enthusiasts in the upcoming year.
