Dune: Awakening Launches May 20, Shows off Dynamic Desert Environments in New Trailer

First Major Update and Story DLC Land in Dune: Awakening

Funcom has released a significant update for their open-world survival game, Dune: Awakening, alongside a new story DLC. The “Chapter 2” update expands the main storyline, and the “Lost Harvest” DLC offers a standalone narrative.

This release coincides with a Free Weekend event on Steam, running from September 11th to 15th, allowing players to explore Arrakis before the game’s first 20% discount.

Key Highlights:

  • Chapter 2 (Free): Continue the story after Act 3, investigate murders, respec your character, and encounter new dynamic events. Includes cosmetic additions like new hairstyles, tattoos, and gear variations.
  • Lost Harvest DLC (US $12.99): Experience a self-contained quest line delving into Arrakis lore. This DLC includes the “Dune Man” building set, new decorations, cosmetic armor and weapons, color swatches, a Thumper emote, and the treadwheel vehicle for alternative travel.
  • Free Weekend: September 11th-15th, access all content. Progress carries over upon purchase.
  • Launch Discount: 20% off on Steam and participating stores from September 11th-22nd.
  • Season Pass: The Lost Harvest DLC is part of a three-DLC pass priced at US $24.99. Two additional packs are planned for future release.

Funcom aims to add more story arcs and biomes to Arrakis, similar to their approach with Conan Exiles. The free weekend offers an accessible way to experience the game.
