Square Enix and Capcom are collaborating this autumn, bringing elements from Monster Hunter Wilds into Final Fantasy XIV Online and vice-versa. The announcement was made at Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live by FFXIV producer Naoki Yoshida and Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, who revealed a teaser and an October launch timeframe.
This isn’t the first crossover between these titles, as the 2018 FFXIV × Monster Hunter: World event was quite popular. However, this marks the first time that content is being developed simultaneously for both games. In FFXIV, a new Trial will feature the imposing Guardian Arkveld, a monster first seen in Wilds. Meanwhile, Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds will receive Hydaelyn-themed content in September.
Confirmed Details:
- FFXIV’s Guardian Arkveld Trial: A challenging encounter inspired by a Monster Hunter Wilds creature, offering unique rewards.
- Monster Hunter Wilds Gets Eorzean Gear: Weapons and armor based on iconic FFXIV classes will be available.
- Release Schedule: Monster Hunter Wilds will receive its content in late September 2025, with FFXIV following in early October.
- Independent Progression: Each game will have its own quests and achievements.
Square Enix and Capcom have promised to share more details throughout the summer. In the meantime, players can view the teaser trailer and check the official collaboration websites for release dates and reward previews.
