FFXI Introduces Macro Dummy; Suspends Limbus for Endgame Upgrades

A fresh update is slated to arrive in Final Fantasy XI on February 12th, and it brings both promising and less ideal news (though not disastrous). In order to implement enhancements to the content, the developers had to temporarily disable Limbus. We had previously hinted at these adjustments in a New Year’s message from the team a couple months ago, which are aimed at simplifying the gear upgradation for individual players.

This suspension will continue till the completion of the task, which is anticipated to take “several months”. It seems like a substantial amount of work is required on the developer’s end given the bulk of data to be segregated before implementing it in the production environment. Unfortunately, during this process, it is undoable to continue maintenance of the current version.

Since the halt of Limbus could affect aspects like collection of beastcoins and upgrade materials, the development team is figuring out alternative methods for ensuring these are available to players. A noteworthy point made was that players currently focusing on their upgrades are not required to hasten the process.

Moving on to a more positive note. Finally, the Besieged level has been calibrated for players of level 99 and above. Furthermore, the team aims to introduce Level 10 to the beastman cap.

More cheers for the users as Macro Test dummies are ALMOST here and can be spotted in the MMORPG’s domains of Batallia Downs, Rolanberry Fields, and Sauromugue Champaign. You can hammer away at these dummies without causing any damage, so let loose!

In an endnote, it’s about time to celebrate Valentione’s Day in Final Fantasy XI. The festive event will kickstart on the coming Monday, February 10, persisting till February 24. To participate, approach moogles located in various areas.
