Fellowship Public Playtest Hits Steam Next Fest with MOBA-Inspired Dungeon Crawling

Fellowship Sets Early Access Debut for October, Open Beta Arrives in September

Chief Rebel, a new studio composed of industry veterans from Blizzard, Ubisoft, DICE, and Arrowhead, is gearing up to launch their cooperative dungeon crawler, Fellowship, on Steam Early Access on October 9, 2025. The PC-exclusive title will be available for $24.99 and is anticipated to remain in Early Access for approximately six months. During this time, the development team will focus on refining content and balancing gameplay based on community feedback.

Prior to the Early Access launch, players can experience the game through a free Open Beta, running from September 18-23. This beta will offer prospective adventurers a first look at what the studio describes as a “multiplayer online dungeon adventure.” This experience is essentially a four-player PvE game that blends MMO-style party roles with the fast-paced, replayable structure found in games like Deep Rock Galactic and seasonal ARPGs.

  • Early Access launches October 9 on Steam, featuring the complete core dungeon-crawling experience.
  • Open Beta runs from September 18 at 10 a.m. PT through September 23, with servers located in North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Seven playable heroes will be available at Beta launch: two tanks, three damage dealers (including the new hero Mara), and two healers.
  • Content includes Quick Play and ranked dungeon runs, the new “Urrak Markets” dungeon, improved matchmaking, progression systems, and cosmetic customization options.
  • Chief Rebel plans to offer purely cosmetic microtransactions during Early Access; gameplay balance and new features will be implemented through free updates.
  • The studio anticipates a full 1.0 release next year, but the timeline is subject to change depending on player feedback.

Players familiar with long-running MMOs will notice that Fellowship streamlines the traditional leveling grind. Players dive directly into endgame-level dungeons that scale infinitely, reflecting the pick-up-and-play philosophy common in many modern co-op games. Whether this approach works for Fellowship remains to be seen, but everyone will have the opportunity to try it out for free during the September 18-23 Open Beta.
