Indie studio, Chief Rebel, is preparing for another beta testing phase for their co-op dungeon crawler, Fellowship. Unlike traditional role-playing games, Fellowship focuses purely on dungeon crawling, challenging small groups of players to tackle progressively difficult instanced dungeons while collecting loot and adjusting game modifiers.
After the open beta in February, the development team has devoted time to examining user feedback, scrutinizing gameplay statistics, and formulating plans to address the concerns raised. The precise date for the forthcoming closed beta remains unconfirmed, but Chief Rebel announced that it’s set for the end of May and assures that it will preview new attributes soon.
The team is currently working on the following improvements and updates:
- Curtailing unexpected one-hit critical strikes in tougher levels
- Modifying the dungeon curse mechanics that can lead to unavoidable damage, particularly when paired with boss abilities
- Revising the progression system and enhancing loot RNG to make basic equipment drops feel more satisfying
- Incorporating weapon and legendary armor drops into the loot roster
- Launching new talents and emotes for increased player personalization
- Expanding HUD customization with the option to resize, adjust stacks, hide DPS meters, view cooldown timers, and share layouts with others
Even with its small yet enthusiastic player base, Fellowship has proven its commitment to its co-op-focused model, as evidenced by its updates. Chief Rebel is eagerly engaging with their community and keen to demonstrate the evolution of the game as the next closed beta date approaches.
