Favorite Halloween MMORPG Event – The Mad King’s Return to Guild Wars 2

While most associate Halloween in MMORPGs with the Headless Horseman event from World of Warcraft, for many players, the holiday season truly begins with the Mad King event in Guild Wars 2. Today marks the start of this beloved event.

Shadow of the Mad King 2024 is on until November 5th, bringing back the iconic Mad King’s Clock Tower jumping puzzle, which Jason Winter has finally managed to beat. If you’re finding it challenging, there’s a ‘Stopped Tower’ variant you can try.

Also returning are fan favorites like the Mad King playing “Mad King Says” (Simon Says) in the festively decorated Lion’s Arch, the Mad King’s Labyrinth and the Ascent to Madness fight with the Mad King, alongside races and mini-games sprinkled throughout the game.

As you wander, don’t forget to visit your friends and guilds’ homesteads. Ring a bell at each spot to gather more trick or treat bags and secure daily/weekly achievements. Halloween-inspired challenges await you in the Wizard’s Vault, directing you to all the spooky activities and enabling you to earn stellar rewards.

You can expect plenty of rewards for your candy corn collection. Visit the official blog to discover everything there is to know. An invite should be waiting in your in-game mail to initiate your journey – just bear in mind that much of the event takes place in Lion’s Arch.
