The new Birthspirit class and Nahantu region are set to be introduced in the Vessel of Hatred expansion, which will be released on October 8th. Preordering the expansion will grant instant access and various in-game awards.

Birthspirit

The latest addition to the Diablo series, the Birthspirit class, draws on the powers of four Spirit Guardians: the Jaguar, Gorilla, Eagle and Centipede, offering a versatile melee combat approach that involves the use of spiritual energy to vanquish demons.

Originating from the newly introduced Nahantu region, Natispirits have a compelling backstory that involves safeguarding the Spirit Realm, a spectral mirror of Sanctuary inhabited by purposeful forest spirits.

The Spirit Guardians symbolize the bond between mankind and the natural world. The Gorilla embodies strength, the Jaguar represents speed, the Eagle denotes vigilance and the Centipede symbolizes decay.

A new skill tag, known as Incarnation, enables players to take on the abilities of a Guardian and acquire a passive bonus.

New Legendary and Unique Spirit Guardian tailored items will be introduced with the Vessel of Hatred expansion. These items can augment a Spirit Guardian’s play style, amplify abilities, or increase player power.

A new class quest for Spirit Guardians becomes accessible once the player reaches Level 15. This quest leads to the obtainment of the Spirit Hall, a place that allows players to strengthen their Birthspirit build by providing them with Primary Spirit bonuses and the Spirit’s Skill Tag.

An additional bonus, available at Level 30, from another Guardian can be chosen to enhance the bond with the primary Guardian or blend it with a new Guardian’s mechanics. Here’s a trailer giving an overview of the Birthspirit class:

The Birthspirit class will be playable publicly for the first time at gamescom in August.
