Dota 2 has introduced a new patch, bringing along the usual updates you would expect from a MOBA. However, this update has a special treat for players—free items! As shared in a post on the Dota 2 Steam page, the developers analyzed data related to the game’s dashboard, which mainly displays players’ match outcomes. This can sometimes be disheartening, especially during a losing streak.
In an effort to enhance the dashboard experience, the developers have unveiled Quartero, a new character that resides in the dashboard and hands out free cosmetic items. Players can earn these cosmetics simply by participating in matches. Completing matches, regardless of the outcome, will progress players toward unlocking these freebies while giving them insights into Quartero’s background. He’s eager to share his story!
The announcement also clarifies that this new feature is not intended to replace major events, but rather to enhance them. It’s anticipated that Quartero will be more active during quieter periods when no significant events are taking place.
