Last year, we began following Sand, a PvPvE extraction game set in an alternate pre-WWI universe. The game centers on players piloting massive walking mech bases, scavenging for loot, and surviving attacks from others. After debuting a PvP demo that attracted significant attention but also revealed numerous issues, developers Hologryph and TowerHaus planned for an early access launch on April 3rd.
However, that release didn’t happen: The studios announced in late March that early access was delayed to refine and optimize the game. They later shared a Q&A post last week, confirming that the early access date remains undetermined. The price for early access is also unconfirmed, though upcoming playtests before launch are planned, with dates to be announced.
The Q&A also addressed several key points, including a PC-focused development for now, trampler customization, designs emphasizing ramming, and a progression loop tied to faction reputation. The post assured players that efforts are underway to combat griefing, make solo play viable, and confirmed that development of a custom trampler editor tool is currently on hold.
