Diablo Immortal Updates with ‘Era of Madness’, New Map, and Player Boosts

Blizzard has announced the 11th major update to Diablo Immortal, titled Twisting Wastes, which will be released on March 20, 2025. The expansion will introduce a new map, Battlefield changes, and three brand new legendary gems, and will also mark the beginning of the “Era of Madness”, a new phase of the game that will last until the end of the year.

Exploration and new threats in Sharval Wastes

The new area, called Sharval Wastes, presents a landscape dominated by rampant fey spirits. Players will need to team up with Druids and Witches of the forest to investigate the origin of the disturbance and protect the citizens of the region.

In addition to the new narrative content, the update also includes a new map for the Battlefield, adding strategic twists to PvP mode. The objectives and mechanics have been overhauled, increasing competitiveness in matches.

Three new legendary gems arrive in the game

The update introduces three new legendary gems, promising to alter combat dynamics and strengthen players:

• Colossus Mechanism (five-star gem) – Increases skill damage by 50%, extends the size and range of hits and grants immunity to knockback.
• Spectral Glass (two-star gem) – Critical hits shatter enemies’ armor, increasing damage output and the chance of a critical hit.
• Wavering Claw (one-star gem) – Disables enemies when landing critical hits, reducing movement speed and inhibiting charging abilities.

New mechanic for creating legendary items

Another highlight of the update is the introduction of a new system for creating legendary items, allowing players to collect ores and materials from elite monsters in the open world to forge equipment with class-specific affixes and skill stones with custom attributes.

What to expect from the “Era of Madness”?

The Twisting Wastes update marks the start of a new phase in the game, called “Era of Madness”, which will be expanded throughout the year with new content and thematic events. Blizzard has already revealed a roadmap for 2025, indicating that players can expect even more news for the Diablo Immortal universe in the coming months.

The update will be free and available for Android, iOS, and PC from March 20.
