Developers of Lord of the Rings Online Vow Numerous New Adventures Across Middle-Earth

As the story behind Lord of the Rings Online steadily approaches the end of the original novels’ plot, everyone is pondering on what’s up next. Not providing a detailed response, yet Standing Stone Games have reassured players that they are planning to offer plenty of new quests before the arrival of The Scouring of the Shire.

“Even after the departure of the Ringbearers, adventures can continue in Middle-earth, the star of our game,” stated Senior Content Designer Jeff Libby. “The Scouring at the novel’s conclusion typically makes players believe the story ends once it appears in-game. However, considering we still have numerous adventures in Middle-earth, pausing to explore these seems reasonable.”

We are all anxiously awaiting announcements for the upcoming expansion following the final content update for Corsairs of Umbar. In all likelihood, The Scouring of the Shire is probably not the next feature we’ll see.
