The Destiny 2 developers have been diligently working since the launch of the 9.0.0 Edge of Fate update, tackling player concerns from the free-to-play shooter and fine-tuning essential systems.
Immediate fixes are in progress, with further updates planned for the first major post-launch update on September 9. Changes on the horizon include restoring vibrancy in the World Tab, addressing reward preview differences in mixed fireteams, and making Kepler Mythic difficulty more accommodating for solo players. The baseline difficulty for raids and dungeons will be reduced, making reward tiers more accessible and adjusting Contest Modes accordingly. An endless source of Bright Dust will return with update 9.5.0, along with earlier rewards for those who missed them.
Bungie notes that player feedback is guiding ongoing enhancements, with critical focus areas including faster power progression, rebalancing Portal rewards, improving Fireteam Ops functionality, and enhancing Crucible rewards — especially for lower ranks and Comp-exclusive weapons. There will also be increased high-tier drops and better loot rates for raids to correspond with the time commitment.
Further updates, featuring new activities and rewards, are anticipated in version 9.1.0 in early September and during the 9.5.0 Renegades reveal.
